The one thing I've learned from all the romance movies and books I've consumed over the years is that the story doesn't begin at the 'I do'.

It starts earlier.

It didn't begin when Michael snuck a surprise past me and stunned me with the perfect ring (and let me tell you, since I knew a ring was in the offing, a surprise was hard to achieve).

It didn't even begin right before that sneaky surprise, when Michael was late to pick me up from the bus stop. He had a cute smile and a tiny stolen 'Sarani-sized' bouquet to apologize for the lateness.

It didn't... well, I could go on, but you would get bored.

It goes back to a lazy summer afternoon in 2010, when we met on the balcony of a friend's flat, or even further, if you believe in fate.

It will begin anew, with hope and joy, and deep gratitude, with the wedding.

I fell in love like you fall asleep: slowly and then all at once.

Fun Fact

Do not dare this man. He WILL walk the messy path behind him - especially if it is more embarrassing to you more than him.

Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.
